A luxury of a big kitchen is a kitchen island. It can give you more seating, counter space, and storage space. If you have a small kitchen, however, there just isn’t room for a kitchen island. But you might have the space to install a kitchen peninsula. Because you only need to be able to pass it on three sides, a peninsula gives you many or all of the advantages of a kitchen island without requiring a lot of square footage.
